Biography
Ryan Alenzi is a first-year Master's student in Criminal Justice at Michigan State University. He came to the program with a double bachelor's degree in English Literature and Film Studies from MSU, bringing an interdisciplinary perspective that utilizes critical narrative analysis with criminal justice.
Ryan's background in media and textual interpretation gives him unique insights into how extremist groups communicate and radicalize members. His research interests are on two main areas: how law enforcement can better investigate and prosecute cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, particularly when these attacks are designed to terrorize communities, and examining the criminal patterns and prosecution challenges in ideologically motivated violence by extremist groups.
